Soil and material testing for environmental and project studies
Soil and material data can support environmental baseline studies, contamination assessment, site characterisation, construction-related decisions and project-specific technical investigations. The appropriate sampling plan and test parameters depend on why the data is being collected and how the results will be used.
Environmental soil testing
Environmental soil assessment may consider pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon, nutrients, metals and other parameters relevant to the project or study. Sampling locations should represent the project area and surrounding conditions so that results can be interpreted in context rather than as isolated laboratory values.
Material and construction-related testing
Where the assignment involves project materials or geotechnical inputs, testing may support decisions on physical properties, strength, moisture, density, gradation or other engineering parameters. The final test schedule is defined according to the material, project stage and technical requirement.
